i didn't dig far enough into the stock activity, but that is a really interesting observation... i'll definitely have to drop in and see what you have to say.

one thing i am very happy about is that the reflexive-call-to-lawsuits response fizzled very quickly.

and thanks... i can't take credit for the color-scheme here (it's mostly a movabletype "stock" template), but it was the closest template to my "personal" site scheme, and i've been too lazy to make them match :)

This was very quickly picked up and dissected for what it was: a waste of time, both as a piece of technology (The Shift key!) and as a possible litigation.

What I found so fascinating was SunnComm's stock activity: It began moving strongly upwards May 2003 -- right in the middle of a long news blackout. There were no offical news released between April 4th 2003 ("Tattoo Media joins forces with SunnComm Technologies") and June 2, 2003. (Macrovision, SunnComm Race To Protect Music From Pirates) that could explain the stock's thrust upwards.

I did, however, notice that sometime in August, the company announced a 2 Million Share buyback. Why a microcap pink sheet company feels the need to buy back stock, I couldn't possibly tell you. But if I was advising the Princeton student, I would suggest the first thing he do is have his lawyer find out if any insiders, officers, board members, or major shareholders did any buying during that period.

I put up some charts and a broader discussion at the link above.

BTW, nice blog -- I'm starting to really like the white text on dark background . . .
