I was just looking up information on this record company
and came across this site.Now I have read most of the
comments left on this page and I am little confused.
Before I continue allow me to admit that a hip hop group
that I co-founded did sign a contract with RapVibe Records
back in 2002.For those groups/artists that have had a bad
experience with RapVibe Records please forgive me if It seems like I am disrespecting or comming off offensive.I respect your thoughts and feelings toward the company,however I am just sharing our experience with the company at the time when we signed on to their label.We first sent a demo c.d. with
4 of our current songs at that time(We were in the process of
recording our 3rd self-released underground album).
Now I can not recall every thing we discussed but I do recall
a”Mr.Corbin Grimes”contacting me 2 weeks(Or about 2 weeks)
after we sent our demo to them.He said that he enjoyed our
demo,but informed me that one of our tracks stood out to him.
So after we discussed how we were going to get the demo
properly promoted,He informed us that the company would
be interested in signing our group to a”12 month or 1 year
agreement”in which RapVibe would(And has)offer management
services and promote our 4 track demo for the time being(As
we were asked to send our newest songs to them and in return
RapVibe would promote the new songs).All they needed was a
$500.00 deposit.We agreed and pitched our funds together and
paid the deposit.Now we were aware of the refund policy that
was stated on the contract but we did not want to void the
deposit due to terms of the contract(Our contract stated
“should you(The artist/group)make any attempt to contact
the companies that we(They)have sent your(Our)demo to would
void our contract indefinetly”.We did not want to ruin our
first contract so we followed it through.Mr.Grimes actually
kept in contact with us,asking us if we had our new songs ready for them.At that time,all three members of our group
were starting to become preoccupied with our own lives(Mostly
due to the fact that at that time we moved to different places).However,Corbin Grimes did send us royalty checks and
information about the companies and radio stations that our demo was sent to.Now we do not know the hardships that other
artists on the label experienced and we have the up most
respect for all independant artists and groups,We simply want to share our experience with the label.Now we did our best to
get our newly recorded tracks(At that current time)finished
and mastered before our contract expired,but only missed
our deadline by a mere 4 to 5 months.We did contact Mr.Corbin Grimes when we finished our album(Which was 1 year,5 1/2 months after our contract expired).Corbin was pleased to hear that we finished our independant album(It was our 4th self-released album)and informed us he still wanted to promote the album due to the fact that we did not send any new(Our latest at that time)tracks to the company.Well needless to say we
could not arrange time to sit down and talk about what tracks we wanted to release on the demo album,Soon after I too moved
from the place we started our group and got to caught up
with trying to make and keep a living.So I guess for our
situation RapeVibe Records did do what they said they were going to for us and kept their half of the deal,But at the time we were the ones who missed the opportunity.We still record as much as we can and are living in or close to where we first formed our group now,
So thats how our experience with the label was.We give credit
for our early success and distribution to RabVibe Records and its affiliates,And appreciate all the support the label has had in the past and is giving us today.

He f*** me over big time also he promise me an my artist a record deal. I was sign to RV RECORDS the new label he created my artist was getting shop round to different labels we spent like $700 dolloar and i have all my receipts everything he wrote i got it everything he send me i got it. Corbin send me a cd with beats on it for me to pick out and record i was waitin my turn to come and record he lied Until this day i want my my dam money back.
