{"id":417,"date":"2003-12-05T03:25:39","date_gmt":"2003-12-05T08:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rojisan.com\/blog\/2003\/12\/changing-the-breed-of-speakers\/"},"modified":"2003-12-05T03:25:39","modified_gmt":"2003-12-05T08:25:39","slug":"changing-the-breed-of-speakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rojisan.com\/blog\/2003\/12\/changing-the-breed-of-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"changing the breed of speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>this blog actually started with the <a href=\"https:\/\/rojisan.com\/blog\/2003\/08\/a_rant_on_domain_experts_backchannels_and_the_hecklebot.html\">hecklebot<\/a>,  because,  well, i had something to say on the subject.  and i&#8217;ve had a few things to say since.  i went way off the deep end (as i tend to do, i guess), but it&#8217;s interesting to see that there are some others out there who are &#8220;getting it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>todayi thought i&#8217;d share an example.  not a broad, sweeping, academic paper, but a short news piece on the disruptive nature of wifi combined with instant messaging (they almost got it all the way to the hecklebot).<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"sourcequote\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsobserver.com\/front\/story\/3070938p-2796175c.html\" class=\"broken_link\">the triangle news observer<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p>Today&#8217;s presenters had better be on their toes, because the wireless Net becomes a quick fact-checking tool.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"sourcequote\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsobserver.com\/front\/story\/3070938p-2796175c.html\" class=\"broken_link\">the triangle news observer<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p>Can wireless drive even the most well-prepared speaker crazy? I should think so. Sperano says we&#8217;re all getting good at multitasking; We can do more than one thing at a time.
