{"id":86,"date":"2003-08-25T06:27:22","date_gmt":"2003-08-25T11:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rojisan.com\/blog\/2003\/08\/shame-in-cuba\/"},"modified":"2003-08-25T06:27:22","modified_gmt":"2003-08-25T11:27:22","slug":"shame-in-cuba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rojisan.com\/blog\/2003\/08\/shame-in-cuba\/","title":{"rendered":"shame in cuba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>the associated press is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/uslatest\/story\/0, 1282, -3066537,00.html\">reporting<\/a> (and as of this moment, only non-american news outlets &#8211; canada, india, austrlia and the uk- are carrying), a story suggesting that the united states is moving forward with plans to expand detention capacity in guantanamo bay.  the story was apparently &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miami.com\/mld\/miamiherald\/news\/front\/6604462.htm\">broken<\/a>&#8221; by the miami herald on sunday.  of course, access to the facility is pretty tightly controlled, so i have to assume most of the data is derived from official sources or leaks.<\/p>\n<p>when &#8220;camp five&#8221; is ready, we will have the ability to hold 1100 persons indefinitely, outside any system of justice.<\/p>\n<p>also interesting, &#8220;The contractor is Kellogg, Brown &#038; Root, a subsidiary of Vice President Dick Cheney&#8217;s former company, Texas-based Halliburton.
