the public filters back

some time ago, we learned that the bush administration, and dubya in particular, is unhappy with the “media filter” and was going to “go local” to “bypass” the “filter”…

today, i learned that the folks at were going really, really local and sponsoring a project to “Create a TV ad that tells the truth about George W. Bush.”

i wonder how bush is going to try to get around that filter?

sometimes, the dance is more interesting than the music…

a few penn state researchers have published a little research on music and mood…

politics takes a page from technology

it occurs to me that perhaps this “mission accomplished” banner and announcement back on may 1st was something like releasing a large new software package.

maybe “mission accomplished” was really iraq 2.00.95 – like windows 95 – “see, look. pretty!” since may 1st, we’ve had several patches, but no service packs or minor revisions. maybe we’re approaching iraq 2.00.95a now. if the comparison holds, we should have this all figured out in a few years. watch for iraq 2.00.95c osr 2 with un support – that’s the one you want.

sleep? wuzzat?

some of you may have noticed i’ve added the “blogtimes” graphic. i don’t know if it’s worth keeping, but i wanted to get some concept of just how crazy my schedule is.

i do seem to hit just about every hour on the clock. 5p is a little thin. 4a to 6a is pretty solid. i know i tend to do the long, involved posts in the dark, quiet hours.

i can only imagine what this looks like to you people who are looking back at my life from the outside.

4 miles to the ton

an interesting study of ancient biomass-to-gasoline conversion…

at least they spell out the methodology.

dance photography updated

i probably should’ve said something sooner, but… well, it’s not going anywhere.

a short while ago, i updated the dance portfolio on my performance photography pages.

if you’d like to see some incredible performers (their pages are always linked from their images if i know they have a site), come check them out.
