welcome jessica
it’s bigger, stranger world, baby

tonight i’ve reached my limit.
virginia sucks.
it started with such a nice evening – people in shops even unlocking their doors 5 minutes after closing to help a guy out… but once i made it to virginia, as seems to be the pattern this year, just one little tweak, one little preturbation after another.
so, virginia is on restriction until it apologizes. i’ve got too many other places to spend my money.
recent developments in my life means i might actually catch up with the stuff here on the “to blog” list. look for a flood of short posts. enjoy.
thanks to those among us that feel a compulsion to serve; to those that do a job because it’s something important to do, and not because it’s a paycheck; to those under-paid and under-appreciated people that take the jobs that make the most difference for most of the people.
to the teachers, the librarians, the social workers, the farmers, the police, the firefighters, the troops, the artists and the parents…
thank you for what you do
i hope to get back to this in some fashion soon – lots of interesting things to share, but i’ve been largely unwired of late.
so, on the personal note (ahem), i am still looking for interesting “celebratory” music from around the world. if you’ve got any favorite tracks, performers, or other musical moments that speak to you in a way that says “this is happy” or “this is a celebration” – do drop me some clues…
